We are so excited to introduce you to our newest member of the Arlington Stylebook family, Lindsey Askew. Lindsey truly has an artist’s eye for turning a “typical” room into a stunning work of art. In her free time, you can find Lindsey exploring Northern Virginia’s vintage bookstores, hunting down vintage furniture, binging The Flight Attendant on HBO, or advocating for safer beauty standards and products.

How do you spend your time?
Lindsey: I run the PFM custom floorcovering studio in D.C. I get to collaborate with designers from Richmond to Arlington. My passion project is advocating for safer beauty with Beautycounter. In my free time, I’m exploring Northern Virginia with my husband and one-year-old son: boutiques, coffee shops, and vintage bookstores are the top of my list.
How long have you lived in Arlington?
Lindsey: I live in Reston, but I love to play in Arlington. I already have my dream house picked out on Garfield Street.
What is your hometown?
Lindsey: West Springfield, Massachusetts. It is one of these “where everybody knows your name” type of small towns.
What would surprise people about you?
Lindsey: I have an irrational fear of flying.
You’re a superhero: what’s your superpower?
Lindsey: I can turn sugar into protein.
Lindsey: A spicy paloma.
Lindsey: I can’t believe I’m going to admit this, but General Hospital! I grew up watching this soap opera with my mother. It’s more of a nostalgic experience I like to say.
A phrase you overuse?
Lindsey: Control what you can.

Lindsey: The Flight Attendant on HBO.
Bucket list travel destination?
Lindsey: The Elephant Nature Park in Thailand.
If you only could have one for the rest of your life: wine or coffee?

Lindsey: Timeless, chic, unforced.

Lindsey: My Madewell leopard mules.

Lindsey: The little black dress.
Favorite current trend?
Lindsey: Headbands for two reasons: a great way to pop pattern in a simple outfit, and to cure a bad hair day!

Lindsey: My Countertime skincare routine by Beautycounter.

Lindsey: Flats 100 percent!

Lindsey: The kitchen nook.

Lindsey: Always a mix for a collected vibe.

Lindsey: A beaded chandelier I am obsessed with.
Next planned purchase?
Lindsey: I’m on the hunt for a vintage chest or armoire for toy storage.
Favorite way to entertain?
Lindsey: Friends over to the house for a signature cocktail, lavish cheese board, and a roaring fire.
Clutter-free or well-lived in?
Lindsey: Can we have both? I hate clutter, but a home has to feel like we live here –it’s not a showroom.
Wallpaper — yes, totally modern or no, so dated?
Lindsey: 1,000 percent yes! Schumacher is my go-to.
Your go-to work-out?
Lindsey: Lately I am digging the Barre classes on the Peloton app.
Most fun way to exercise?
Lindsey: With a killer playlist.
Group exercise or solo?
Lindsey: Solo. Exercise is a therapy session for me.
Your fitness goal?
Lindsey: I have this vintage jean jumpsuit from forever ago. Whenever I fit comfortably back in it, I know I’m doing something right.
Proudest fitness achievement?
Lindsey: Finishing the D.C. Army Ten Miler, twice!
Favorite spot in Arlington?
Lindsey: Ambar in Clarendon.
Last purchase in Arlington?
Lindsey: A card for my new niece at Covet.
