Looking to find some unique last-minute holiday gifts? Today I am featuring some of my favorite local businesses where you can shop for everyone on your list!
One of my favorite gifts to give (especially to clients with a lot on their plates) is time. You know all those things on your to-do list that you are never able to get to (or that you dread taking care of)? A Pinch of Time is an elite Concierge and Lifestyle Management company that cheerfully steps in to help you get it all completed. For example, A Pinch of Time can arrange for childcare, personal chefs, home management/organization, cleaning, personal assistance, packing, and more. They offer gift certificates – they call them “A Gift of Time” – that you can purchase on an hourly basis. When you give “A Gift of Time,” A Pinch of Time will personally work with the recipient to customize the available services to his or her needs.
If a fashion lover is on your gift list, I have a great recommendation for you. My favorite consignment shop and Arlington Stylebook contributor, Agents In Style, is the perfect spot to find all the best designer fashion brands for women’s clothing and accessories – some with tags, some consigned. The Chanel mules I purchased there are one of my prized possessions. The ever-changing inventory is photographed and displayed on the Agents In Style website, where great finds can be purchased and shipped wherever you want them to go. Or you can visit the store in person Tuesday through Saturday, 11am – 5pm, and Sundays from 1pm – 4pm. If you have items to consign, you can make arrangements on the website to do so. Not sure what to get? Agents In Style has gift certificates and styling services too. From now until December 22, they are offering 10 percent off online purchases with code HOLLY at checkout.
Looking for something whimsical, edgy, or hilariously clever? You are bound to find it at Covet, a regular recipient of Arlington Magazine’s Best Gift Shop title. Covet overflows with unique treasures, from art to jewelry to candles to pillows to clothing and more. Covet also carries a selection of cards that regularly make me laugh out loud. I absolutely love a recent seasonal addition – the felt Hero Ornaments. How adorable is the Mr. Rogers one (pictured)? You can visit the shop (Mon – Fri, 11am – 6pm; Sat, 10am – 5pm; Sun, 12pm – 5pm) or browse the Covet website to see what is currently available in-store and online. You can make a purchase for curbside pickup, local delivery, or USPS shipping. To guarantee your gift will arrive before Christmas, make sure to place all shipping orders by this Friday, the 18th. Covet offers free gift wrapping, which is a huge time-saver when you are shopping last minute. Just make a note that you want your purchase(s) wrapped at checkout.
Le Village Marche is one of my favorite spots to go gift shopping. Always beautiful, the shop is simply magical this time a year. A visit is worth it just to see the displays alone. This year I stopped by to pick out a special ornament for an ornament exchange with some of my dear friends. It did not disappoint. I immediately found the perfect one – an adorable bucket of champagne (ice and all) for my champagne-loving friend. Even though I quickly found her ornament, I couldn’t help but linger as every inch of this store is just so pretty. Due to COVID, Le Village Marche operates on limited hours: Wednesday through Friday from noon to 5pm. Or, you can shop online and either pick up during the limited hours or have your gift shipped.
My go-to spot for the sweetest baby gifts, Lemoncello also has a constantly rotating inventory of women’s clothing, accessories, home goods, spa gifts, and even a few things for the guys. You are sure to please anyone on your list from this bright and cheery boutique. Shop in-store (Mon – Sat, 11am – 6pm; Sun, 12pm – 4pm) or online and ship anywhere.
Scout & Molly’s is one of the best places to find gifts for my girlfriends. They have fantastic jewelry, purses, and accessories – including so many fun masks! I’m sure to always find the perfect gift for a great price there. I’m also loving their lounge sets currently – that might be a one for you, one for me type of gift! Right now, their entire Ballston Quarter store is 50 percent off, so you really can’t go wrong. They have a huge selection in-store, but if you don’t want to get out and about, you can also shop online.
Located in the same farmhouse as Covet (above), The Urban Farmhouse is beyond charming from the furniture, décor, and gifts sold in the shop to owner June, who is so lovely to all who stop by. The goods are part rustic, part classic, and all lovingly curated to create a welcoming space to shop. My biggest challenge when visiting The Urban Farmhouse is how to stop myself from buying everything there. It is so hard to choose what to get because everything is so appealing. You can order gifts online for curbside pickup or visit the store in person. Urban Farmhouse is open daily, but the hours vary by day. Check the website for details.
Make sure to check out Arlington Stylebook this Friday for our Love Local Gift Guide, a curated list of great gifts from our Arlington small businesses!
