Cute and Cozy Essentials

Everyone is still in comfort mode, and we can see why! It’s hot out, COVID-19 is still raging, and many are still working from home. We’re all trying to make the “new normal” fun for kids (and ourselves), but we’ve come to realize there is a lot of non-normal going on. So, why not be comfortable as we figure it all out!?

This week, we’re highlighting some of our most comfortable tie-dye outfits – they are all fun and affordable. Shop in our Ballston store Fridays and Saturdays from 12pm – 6pm, by appointment all other days (call/text 703.362.5860 to set up an appointment), or shop online from the comfort of your own home at

Here are some fabulous cardigans and one-of-a-kind leggings designed by Betsy Dribben from Good Karma. She is a local artisan who specializes in ice dyeing fabric. A couple of these pieces are from other vendors but fit in beautifully with our cozy tie-dye theme!

The below outfits are perfect for looking cute while still being cozy, and they arrived just this week. I know they will go fast, so order your size online as soon as possible!

I am new to the fashion world and loving it. My daughter, Betsy, and I own two Scout & Molly’s Boutiques – one in Reston Town Center and one in Ballston Quarter. Our stores are part of a franchise that allows its owners to curate their own collections. So, we are able to match the vendors and designs we bring into our stores to our customers. Thus, you will find unique items in both of our stores. In our Ballston store you will find trendy, reasonably priced clothes for a casual outing, your workday, and special occasions along with lots of fun accessories and gift ideas! Before Betsy and I started this adventure, I enjoyed a career in the private sector offering consulting services to small and medium sized companies. I also devoted a lot of my time to health, educational, cultural, and social service boards. Most recently, I served as Chairman of the Congressional Commission to Study the Potential for an American Women’s History Museum as part of the Smithsonian.

We truly believe that no one style fits all and that we have to have choices for our customers so that she can find something that makes her feel beautiful and comfortable. Our stylists can help our clients step outside their comfort zone, find new trends and approaches to their style in a comfortable environment.

Our team believes that we should always treat each person that walks through our doors like we want to be treated and we strive to do that each and every day. We take our clients seriously. They become like family, stopping to see what’s new and to catch up with their favorite stylist. We hope that our clients feel like they are shopping in their best friend’s closet.
